Just thought I would present you guys with these few tid bits.
AMD 4600+ AM2 costs $575

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 costs $530

AM2 Socket Mobo costs $230 for top of the line

Intel 975X motherboard costs $240 for the same ASUS board

So we have the top of the line normal Conroe pitted against the mid range AM2 processer, and its better on all fronts. Say what you like, but I really think that this one is going to intel. Also AMD has had their launch for this year. Their not putting anything else out processer wise according to their press. They are now going to focous on Torenzo and 4x4 to compete with intel's VIIV
Cheers

Its simple... Lets say all that is true and AMD is going to concentrate onthe next gen of product.... all AMD has to do is drop the price of their top end FX processer to the point where Intel is outrageously charging for the speed.... AMD will at that point be king again because the cost to performance ratio will be in line with lower budgets and therefore they will sell more chips.
Its the same thing as selecting an AMD processor for a system. The San Deigo 3700+ or 4000+ is the best cost to performance solution on the market. If the FX64 is priced right, who the hell would want to pay double for the benchmark bragging rights. On top of that, you know as well as I do that the motherboard has allot to do with how well the benchmark looks... who knows what is coming by Q4 in boards? How do we know those benchmarks will hold up as good as they look today with motherboard releases of Q4 and Q1 of next year? We dont..
AMD has always managed to trump Intel... I am sure they have something they are holding back until the right time to announce it. That is what pisses Intel off about AMD... they are SLICK and always have been when it comes to the game.
