it only got the computer, it was my PSU, it shorted out and caught the whole thing on fire right after i got done painting it and reassembling. It was modded sweet and that freash paint and its fumes spread the fire like mad before i could do anything :(

Paint does have a flash point when wet, obviously you did not know that.

Sempron rivals Celeron.  A 3200+ Sempron compares to a 3.2GHz Celeron.  A P4 3.2 will vastly outperform the Sempron.

A 64 3200+ rivals the P4 3.2GHz.  In general this is true: http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/11/21/ ... age31.html
However for games it is more comparible to the 3.8Ghz:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/11/21/ ... age27.html
However it really depends on the games.  Whether it uses dual cpu or not etc...

A 64 3200+ will struggle against any of the new EE processors.  It certainly won't be anywhere near the 3.6EE, although it may get closer during games, generally it is miles away. ;)

Let me stick my oppinion in here, I hate Intels, Period, I will never again even look at one....... I just hate em, Other than going through prolly 10, Using Old Celerons and new Pentiums (familys computers or just library school etc) I just dont think they are worth it. You wont catch me Touching another Intel Processer anytime soon, they are to me, overpriced and practicly useless for what I do, but thats just an opinion, so dont flame me out (I had to say something reading this thread  ;D) Cheers, Gunny (Intel destructer)

Well I knew plaint had a flash point, I wasn't worred, what happened is I also installed leds in my PSU, and my sodder broke throwing a live wire into the side of the psu making a big spark setting the whole thing off. It was a freak accident, and when I can afford ill prolly mod another computer, just use more sodder next time.

I would have the first time, except I had a paper due for school and I forgot i still had to do it, I spent the weekend modding the computer and forgot about it. At least I got the paper done before the PSU sodder went out.

Whoa, I think everyone is missing the poster's question.  He's not asking what hardware he should buy.  He's asking what FS will work on his current hardware.

That's the problem with the hardware forum.  It doesn't matter how you bound your post they'll always advise you buy more hardware then you want to.

Well chris the simple answer for that is most people expect that they will be able to get amazing preformance on a less than system. Basically we reccomend what hardware they should be looking at to achieve their goal. Now if that means an upgrade, then do so.

Well I don't care to upgrade. I for instance am not looking for high levels of detail, I'm looking to run a program. I literly just bought FS 98-2004 at a yard sale, and need to know which to use. I want a useable framerate, be able to see 3d buildings, and tell the differance between sky and groud. I just upgraded from FSW95, and CFS2 as my main Flight Sim Programs. If it is of any help CFS2 runs at 1024x768x32 with full everything turned on at around 30 fps. And this is playable to me.

On your system you are gonna need to run FS98 for that preformance. FS9 runs many more systems than CFS  Things like traffic, ATC, wether, etc. CFS just has the main simulation.
