OMG Ubuntu is a nightmare... worse than windows ;D no but i could not connect to net... right pass and nah then really slow then i un-installed properly and lost 50Gigs on HDD space >:(

You may have to delete the partition using some software.

I just have no idea how to safely uninstall Ubuntu so that it removes GRUB with it.

i think you there is a guide i will check now ;)

Nah sorry but i do know that i had to replace the grub thingy with the windows one on the cd (codes time) ;D

Oh yeh, Windows repair.

I don't think I have ever seen a Windows disc! I have a Windows 95 repair floppy, but I have never been given the disc, it is really annoying.

I presume an XP disc wouldn't be able to repair Vista's boot would it?

Not any more they don't. at least not here. When my father was looking to buy a new PC he asked about a reinstall/repair disk and was told he could get a copy for $20. That's just bad marketing if you ask me. After all, you pay for the license.

In the last year 3 Vista machines have come into this household... 2 Acers and a Packard Bell. No recovery discs were given out.

Should I contact Packard Bell about a recovery disc?

If they don't, I can send you the dell one I have, if you send it back afterwards.

It isn't really just dell, it just says dell and it recovers Windows Vista/ installs it.

Definately for Vista?

If it is, then that would be most kind.
