I am a zalman man, but i'm also into suggesting anything thats full magnesium or copper shell/Mag core. use it with a silverite paste (but don't use the whole thing like i did last month :P) and expect some really good results.

the silverite paste: made by OCZ, instead of a 70% ceramic and 30% silver mix (or whatever it is) this is a 99.2% Silver compound .8% Ceramic. result: faster heat transfer from CPU to heatsink plate.

I've been using a poly-synthetic compound called "Spectra-Cool" (yeah, that stuff on EBay) and it does seem to do a good job.(and it's non-conductive) The only gripe I could have about it, is that it seems to degrade after a few hundred heat-cool cycles. That was on my Athlon system though. For my newer P4 machine, it'll be A/S for sure. Gonna try for a Zalman CNPS9500, if my "financial advisor" will allow it.

AS5 and a few others do break down over a period of 6 months. That is a given with the chemical structure of its compound molecular matrix

If you want it to last a year or two, do what I do and use the AS C
