When you have plugged the card in and switched on the computer, it should have said: "New Hardware found"...
If it didn't, then there is a problem with the Card itself!
You say that you just bought the Card new, but as that card is almost 10 years old, and has been out of production for many years, is there a chance that it is a old card that was faulty?....
