Trojan I'm guessing you brought this system as an off-the-shelf in a box rig. Can you post the model number of the Dell? From there it should be possible for us to look up the details we need and help you ;)

just a minute, we're going to rip out the comp and see what the number is...
it wasn't a box rig, though, it was ordered custom (well, sort of custom. its a pretty basic PC)

thanks :)

Doubt your issue has anything to do with settings.
Integrated graphics card likely won't cut the mustard in X.
X needs powerful CPU (Primary)
And competent GPU (Secondary)
Rem: RAM is shared by integrated card CPU and GPU.
CAD/Performance/Available will tell what is left for X to use.
My AMD 3500 and ASUS EAX1950, 1GB RAM is just adequate.
Likely MS and Card Mfg will team up for better X performance via SP and graphics card update specific to X.

Wait though, so by my comp specs do you think It'll support a[glow=yellow,2,300] Diamond Stealth ATI Radeon 9250 PCI 256MB Graphics Card[/glow]

or a [glow=yellow,2,300]Diamond Stealth X300SE 256mb Version[/glow]

They don't sound too attractive, but I guess better than on-board graphics in any case.

Diamond Stealth ATI Radeon 9250 PCI 256MB

Because that's all you'll be able to fit in ....... as you have 3 PCI slots ..... no AGP or PCI-E

It's a waste of time and money. All you are heading for is frustration with those low end G-cards.

Your system is severely limited by the onboard graphics which are pathetic for gaming apps.

If you don't have an AGP slot on that mainboard, you are limited to a PCI graphics card which will possibly net a bit more performance, but those cards are very expensive for what they deliver, which isn't much where FSX is concerned.

If your mainboard has an AGP slot (look inside), it's a different story, and you may be able to get reasonable upgrade card.

OK, Which one of these will give me [glow=yellow,2,300]reflections[/glow]  and [glow=yellow,2,300]moving jetways[/glow]

i can get Ok graphics with no autogen, but if I turn it on frames go to around 5-8, and with weather 2.7-4
