Oh man that is a killer rig...forgive for asking, where do you get all the money for your computer parts...you must be loaded with cahs :o :o :o :o :o

Well my family is rathar well off, but my parents have limited severly what they will spend on my hobbies, since I got a job. And since there is absolutely nothing to do in this town I work alot for $8.75 an hour + a monthly bonous of about $100+ dollars. So working 30 hour weeks + 7 hour sundays (time and a half) I bring home quite a hefty paycheck, and now that I have everything else (airsoft etc) that I want I'm going to rebuild my rig.

And when its done (probibly december more or less, I'll post pics to show you the wonder it is.

Cheers

I took a closer look at your wish list. I don't think the lights are going to work. Because of the overhead fans, and the PSUs being in the bottom of che case, there is no where to put them.

Thy are going to be mounted between the drive bay and the outar wall on the top and bottom. Then ontop and bottom of the motherboard tray. The 4" ones are going ontp of the PCI bay and in the drive bay.

When my other GPU comes in I will take a closer look at my case. Will try and take some pictures of the area in question with the case fully populated.

It would really look nice if there is room.

Why bother with lights? It's only an extra drain on your PSU and another source of heat that has to be cooled.

Because the lights look great if they are installed properly

I always thought that if you wanted to look at pretty lights,  put up a Christmas Tree. ;D ;D ;D

My case has some "cool" lights, but I never see them becasue they are only visable from the side of the case that faces the wall, that and the action takes place on the monitor,so rather pointless to have to say the least ::)

I must admit my computer has a light. But thats only cause I brought a fan that turned out to be a light as well when I got it home.

In my opinion chavvin' up a pc is possibly the saddest thing anyone could ever do. Even worse than sticking a spoiler and neon lights onto a Vauxhall Nova.

That is like saying if you want to watch a wide screen go to a movie.

I am not a big fan of interior lights either, but that is my choice. In fact most of my cases have solid sides.

Because a person decides to use lights is no cause to flame his decision. We all perceive cool/neat/snazzy/rad or whatever word you want to use differently.

I saw a case that was powder coated red with a mural on the side. It looked like it should have been on the front counter of a whore house, but the guy that owned it was proud of its "Artistic Beauty".

We all have different taste.

Yes but Cameron, who seems to care for nothing except sqeezing that last tiny little bit of performance out of his computer should realise that having lights is going to use up power and cooling. By a negligble amount admittedly but when you want all the performance you've got to be ruthless. ;D

I was not defending Cameron's choice, but his right to make his choice.

I have 2 work computers plus a backup and 2 game computers. If the cases are opened they are not perticularly pretty inside. What little cable management I did do was done to assure maximum airflow, not to look nice. There are no fancy lights or UV cables installed.

All but 1 computer sits under a desk with just the front panel exposed. If I was not to lazy to wire in some remote switches the computers would be completly out of site.

Once Cameron finishes his project I would like to see some pictures. I do appreciate someone elses approach to computer assembly.

Sorry Richard I wasn't trying to "flame" anyones choice just a apparent lame attempt at humor (oh well I found it funny).

If you want lights go for it, you would be stupid  not to do so based on what i think or anyone else for that matter. ;)

Politically Incorrect.. The funny part is I agree with you about the lights.

But I do think that everyone is entitled to build as they please.

I do appreciate constructive criticism but about fell out of my chair laughing when I read the Nova comment.

At 62 years of age I might get a little touchy about comments that really don't deserve it and did not mean to offend anyone.

The closest I came to lights was a bunch of colored fans in my water cooled case. It really does look pretty nice in the evening. http://www.rdhenderson.net/water

Okay, I'm vacation so I'm going to make this brief.

1st: They are called cold cathodes for a reason. They generate absolutely no heat whatsoever.

2nd: They use about 2Ws each. So in total its taking up only 10W total from my avalible 580, I think I'll be okay.

3rd: If done correctly, it looks very good (see the link in my sig called "my own little corner") I do alot of LAN partys so PC case modding is a must.

Cheers
