After running through all the possable problems, I'm almost 100 percent positive that its the motherbard.

Hello Nick

I have an Internal "Speaker" which i have connected but makes no sound. Ive even changed it around. My motherboard (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't have any other speaker system.

I carefully examined the CPU when i removed it, all the pins etc, and it seems to be fine.

Only thing i can think of is the motherboard.

Cheers Nick

James

I just wanted to make sure.... Usually you will get an audio beep or code if the board lights up properly.

The only other thing I can think of is, assuming there are no shorts on the mounts and all the jumpers are set up correctly, the power supply is either not the right one OR it is defective. There can be more than one (depending on the board) main plugs that must be connected to the motherboard. Assuming that is correct, one of the rails could be defective causing the same problem.

More than likely the motherboard is the problem but the PSU could still be defective. Just because the drives light up does not mean the PSU is OK, although it is a good sign the PSU is working.

Yes i think it will be the motherboard more than likely.

I have posted it today so i should recieve a replacement late next week.

Cheers,

I always tell first time sys builders that if a new sys will not POST/BOOT,  not to panic.
It is almost always something that was overlooked and not faulty hardware.

Something like a floppy cable installed upside down (not an uncommom problem) will prevent a sys from posting.

Also be shure that all cards are seated properly in their slots, etc.
Home airports are KMGJ and KSWF in Orange County, NY
Stop by and say hello. :)

Thanks guys for all your help..

I have sent my motherboard back, and they have replaced it because mine was out of stock, so they couldn't send me a replacement.

But they have sent me a better motherboard, they have sent me the Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe.

And best of all it will be here wednesday. Excellent RMA turn around dont you think?

PS: Is there any tips/info i should consider about my new motherboard.

Cheers Guys!  8)

Not really. Just be careful putting everything in. Check all connections to make sure their snug, and don't bend any pins on that processer ;)

Jimbo
if you are going to use the Raid controler on that board beware that the "Make Disc" facility for loading the RAID s/w at the F6 prompt when loading Windows is defective.
It leaves off critical files and won't load correctly which means your hard drive won't be recognized.

I have the correct files if you are going to do this.

I thought I had a faulty Sata drive when I was building my system until I found this fault.
Hope everything goes well for you.

cheers

That board supports quad sli and it is just about equal to the MSI Diamond plus in performance. The only drawback is the layout design for certain video cards.

You now have one of the best 939 motherboards available and you wont have any problems with Vista, FSX or upgrades. For qual sli you will need to upgrade the PSU to a 1000watt unit and if you go that route should also upgrade to a dual processor. Those are items you can add with time one by one.

have fun
