Congo,

HP and Compaq and all those PC manufacturers don't activate everytime windows installs. ALl they do is partition and then copy all the files to the hard drive along with drivers and activation and all that.

Then imaging the drive should work fine I guess, as far as the op sys is concerned, it's already activated.

Just bear in mind that the Op Sys and PC should be perfectly configured before an image is done. Keep it simple and clean if possible, the image process will be quicker.

Imaging a 200gb drive, for example, would require quite a set of disks for restoration if the drive was loaded full of data.
