
Windows 7 recognised it and installed the drivers straightaway. The only thing missing is the utility where you could try various force feedback effects.
But once inside FSX the stick works exactly as it did before....same button layout (I thought I had to setup a custom config initially but that evidently wasn't the case) and same force feedback strength.
And boy what a difference 8+ years makes. My old P.C is ten years old and I had to turn down all the effects etc and then could still only manage about 18fps....once I got near cities it dropped to around 12fps and was unplayable.
But now with my laptop (i7 processor and GTX660m GPU) it set itself to everything on ultra high and is hitting a constant 30fps which is more than enough to be perfectly playable. It looks gobsmacking now
