I have been an enthusiastic user of AMD "socket A" central processors over the years.
Having very recently replaced my slightly elderly Gigabyte socket A motherboard with a new Gigabyte socket A, 400 FSB version, I now find that few, if any, socket A processors are advertised for sale now....!!!
I was hoping to swop my AMD 2600+ XP Athlon for an AMD 3200+ (the max size)....
...but they all seem to have disappeared off the planet...!!!
Is the pin arrangement of socket A processors peculiar to socket A "sockets"....?
...and is there much to be gained from upgrading from 2600 to 3200...?
Cheers Lads...!
Paul...
