saving more than 1 dls on a disc

Postby bombardier » Sun Jan 06, 2013 8:06 pm

hello to all:

when I dl a plane or a jet onto a disc; can a dvd rw save more than one download on a disc. I got one jet that I downloaded and I was wondering, if I can use the same disc to dl another jet or do I need to use another disc to save?

Why not wait until you have 4 Gb of downloads and then save it to DVD?

hello bass &  crashII:

I have understood what you said in your posts. but how would I apply that to my downloads if I have more than 1 files to download. how do I keep the dvd open when I have more than 1 files to dl. can you explain that to me I'm unclear on that subject. I know what you mean but to put that into practice thats where you loose me.

also crshII; and again I know what you mean but to put that into practice then you just lost me on there. if I have lets say 2 gbs of jets files to download how would I combine all of them seems like i will need a main folder then save that. can you explain this theory to me?

When you have downloaded the file onto a read/write/re-write CD/DVD make sure you don't "close" the Disk when offered the option.
This will leave the Disk "open" for more files to be added/written as required.

"Closing" a Disk is fine if you just want to protect everything which is already on the Disk, and prevent it from being written on again..

Paul...My brain is already "closed" and will accept no more incoming data... :'(...!

As Fozzer said it.
The best thing you can do, is making a folder on your hd, called ex "downloads" and put your dl's there. Then copy the dl's you want and burn it/them on an open dvd.
Tho, be aware of the main size on the dvd.

Paul, i know how to open your hd ;D ;D

Bombardier, it's not that difficult. Let me explain in a few easy to follow steps.

1. Create a folder called Flightsim Downloads. This way you can not confuse it with another folder.
2. When you download something Flightsim related, safe it directly to this folder.
3. Gather enough files to burn to 1 dvd. 4.7Gb for single layer, 9Gb for dual layer dvd's.
4. If you have a DVD burner I take it you have some sort of software to burn data on them.
5. Select all the files in the Flightsim Downloads folder and burn them to the DVD.

That's it.
