I had to Google "JS282" to find out what it was!

...and here it is...>>> http://www.maplin.co.uk/js282-pc-joystick-224053

Looks fine to me!
As long as they have a twist-action for the rudder, flight joysticks will work fine!

Paul...Saitek Cyborg Evo Force joystick... 8-)...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

You're a gentleman Fozzer, thank you very much.

Perhaps I could have given more detail haha.

Cheers,

Note:

Maplin Quote:
"Maplin says: Windows 7 support is not currently guaranteed for the item unfortunately. Personally we would suspect it should operate on windows 7 using existing xp or vista based drivers but it could not be guaranteed."

I would suspect that it should work using the standard Windows Plug-and-play method, and use Windows Joystick calibration ?...

I would certainly hope as much.

I'm not so well to do with money at the moment, so this will be a makeshift joystick until next year, then in January I'll just upgrade to something that's recommended...

I think others have used it with Windows 7, which I do run, so I'm not too concerned...

Thanks,Tom

I think that Stick will be quite adequate for the job, and providing it is reliable, should last you for a long time yet.
My Joysticks have always been of the similar type, including my present one!
Nothing fancy...It does all I ask of it!... ;D...!
(I have no need for expensive Yoke and Pedals!)

Paul...with a very nice stick of joy!... :D...!
