processor upgrade?

Postby coreservers » Sat Aug 21, 2010 8:56 am

currently I run a core 2 duo E8500, unsure whether to upgrade to a core 2 quad Q6600. I dont want any "you should buy these" kind of answers, just responses to this particular hardware setup.
Core 2 Duo E8500 3gb, Gigabyte S-Series mainboard, Sapphire HD5870 Vapor X

If it's strictly for gaming and those games don't utilize the extra cores then keep what you have.

Food for thought:

Hope this helps.

No, keep the E8500. Better yet, overclock it to >4.0ghz

Or get an i7.
