i'm sure this has been addressed before, but i can't find....am planning to upgrade to a new computer and i assume that 64 bit is preferable...are there many addon aircraft which will not work here?......

also, was going to wait for windows-7 to come out cause i thought i read that it would be more like win-xp. now nick says no...vista with another name...

also was hoping to build a system close to what nick recommended above....i wonder  how much it would cost? and how long before the prices go down...any chance within the next 3 months you think?

I am running Vista 64 and have had no problems with FSX compatibility either with addons or aircraft. In fact I have not had any problems with any software I am running. I am running FSX on my laptop (Vista 64) and my desktop (Vista 32) and to my layman's eyes I can notice no difference.....................however, over to NickN ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I've been running various versions of XP, Vista, and 7 on several different computers and I've only ever run into one compatabilty problem, and that was with an old TV tuner.

People tend to be quick to assume a problem is Windows fault. :P
