First install all servicepacks for XP

Go to 'windows update'
Click link 'microsift update', install the activex stuff, set autoupdate on, but dont exit the browser there
Let it make a full scan (2nd button from the two available)
If you have luck it will find a driver for the device.

Usually this happens for me with the USB2 ports that only start to work when you have sp2 installed

Thats the same issue I posted.. you dont use Media Center so the driver is not available and is really not needed anyway..

I am assuming this is the problem Chris.. as I said, I dont use OEM computers but that description and the DEVICE ID fits perfect so I would simply disable it in the device manager as it serves no purpose if you do not use the OEM Windows CD
