Hybrid mobo opinions

Postby dodger » Sun Nov 23, 2008 9:46 pm

I'm planning on the next upgrade, and as usual trying for a low-buck set-up that will run FSX at a reasonable frame rate. I've sort of zeroed in on a hybrid AMD 780 chipset board with onboard Radeon graphics, and plan to add a Radeon 3800 series PCIe that will match the Crossfire requirements. CPU will be AMD dualcore 6000 or so. memory will be 3 Gh. Tom's Hardware has benchmark charts for FSX but they don't really tell me much - almost everything they run is around 27 to 28 f.p.s. for 1600 x 900 display. Anyone have experience with onboard hybrid set-ups like this?
AMD 64 X2-5200, NVidia 9600GT 512, 2048 DDR, 2x250 GB SATA, Saitek X45, Win XP SP3 (Win7-64bitRC1 and FSX on 2nd HD)
