Dead PC

Hi there,

In my second PC I removed the Cooler off the CPU & renewed the paste

Home build, Asus P5K Premium WiFiiFi Intel,
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 95W 2.4GHz,
OCZ Vendetta Cpu Cooler, 2x2GB, 240-pin DIMM,
DDR2 800 (400mhz) PC2-6400,
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX KO 512MB GDDR3 (PCI-E),
Excelsior sata 250gb,

Well with my computer, i turn it on and it goes on and turns off then turns on. Is this what your is doing?

I found that if i leave it for like 1 Min then push the reset button it works fine.... i call it my security ;D

Thanx mazza,

no, just for a second the fans run & stop. The PC does not boot at all.

Ashamed to say I bent one of the CP chip pins, never before but there is always a 1st time.

And to think that I am extra carefull to see & hear the chip fall freely in the holes.

Anyway managed to straighten it & fires up OK now, & is 5c cooler now with the new paste
