Sounds like an affordable (not on my budget) supercomputer!

It doesn't matter how many cores you have it all depends on the software if the program will use all the cores at max performance or not. ;)

I would suggest reading about the Cell processor. The way it works is far different than a normal PC - amount of cores and ghz is meaningless unless you know how to interpret them. I may was well and say my 8800GT has 112 'cores' at 1.2ghz each.... Is it a supercomputer...? It is faster than my Q6600? No, and No - it is faster than a Q6600 at drawing graphics, and only graphics.

FSX wasn't coded for the Cell - it would be like trying to run Windows on only videocard, it wouldn't work, at all. Besides the PS3 has crap all, low bandwidth memory, and a relatively slow videocard.

What IS worth looking forward to, is Nehalem overclocked to like 5ghz...

A nahelem at 5 GHZ would be more processing power than any program existing would know what to do with... Even SupCom wouldn't be able to touch it's power. That is, assuming the chip doesn't melt the mobo...

some early testers are saying that they have gotten it up to 4.2 GHz fairly easily :o
