Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Connectors

Postby Plugpennyshadow » Sun Aug 10, 2008 9:55 pm

Anyone have a Sound Blaster Audigy 4 in their machine?

If so, is the connector marked "J1" the front panel connector?  The connector is a rectangular shape with ten pins in it.  I notice that my case has three front panel connector options.

The first is for digital output which I will NOT be using.  The second is for the AC'97 standard.  This consists of two connectors for two different ways to hook up to the mb or soundcard.

The first way is a single plug with the ten wires.  This goes in the mb port.  NO fuss, no muss.  This is how I have the sound run to the front at this time.  The same wire has ten individual plugs coming off of it so as to hook up to a what I would assume is a linear or odd shaped set of pins on a mb or soundcard.

Again, I repeat my question.  Is the connector marked "J1" on the SB Audigy 4 soundcard for these individual plugs?  If so, is it a simple 1-10 starting from the J1 side?

Hope someone can help me...Couldn't find any info on the web.  Beleive me, I looked...

Thanks in advance...
