How long should it take?

Well, recently a buddy of mine came over and he had a virus called the Parite.B virus.


He connected to our network, and then, we later got it, and so I got it successfully off of my parents and other laptops, but not my Desktop! I am now reformatting using the 2nd option, the one that doesn't say "quick", and I am wondering how long it should take, as it's at 33%, and it's going at less than 2% every 5 mins, not to mention we're going to San Diego tomorrow, so I can fly a plane and go to legoland, so I am kind of screwed.


Should it be done soon, or not?

It's a 500 GB hard drive and I had only used about 100 GB...

If I were you I would avoid your Buddy and your Parents. They seem to be sneezing all over you!... .... .... ... ...!

As for your 500 GB Hard Drive...yet another very good reason for NOT going over the top with a massive hard drive!...

...my 80 GB Hard drive takes long enough to Defrag, as it is!... ...!

A couple of smaller Hard Drives makes more sense to me......!

I don't exactly want to use RAID, it seems very buggy.

You're screwed haha! My 320gb hd took over 24 hours to defrag and formatting on a 500...
