Here it is...

I have put everything together and it is all working well. Took me 3hrs to put it all together as it was my first time building something of this magnitude.

Here she is:

It is wiring hell at the moment as I just wanted it to all work together. I will deal with the wires sometime this weekend when i have time. Don't have the HDDs in yet or hooked up the optical drives.

The G.Skill 2x2gb DDR3 1600 RAM I bought is just registering as 1Gb. I  won't bother with it until the OS is installed.

QX9650 is registering as 2.33Ghz instead of 3Ghz. Also will deal with that when OS is installed.

Runs quite as ever and cool too. The CPU is around 33-35*C without load the fan set at Performance.

I am just admiring this beautiful piece of machinery. ;D

I'll swap ya for my Q6600?  ;D

Enjoy your new rig - I think 2.33ghz is most likely just a power saving function (C1E halt, speedstep or something... it's in BIOS and you'll recognise it).

You have to set the memory timing/settings in the BIOS manually and I would check with either Gskill or Evga on the BIOS settings and make sure the right slots are populated

I warned you that this is not a plug-n-go situation. You need to make sure the BIOS is set up correctly for the sticks

33-35 idle?  Geez I hope thats not at 2.33 even at 3ghz thats high to me, stock cooler though so I'm sure thats your problem. When I had my 9700 I idled at 28C at 3.2ghz with a q6600 not even 45nm. Id check that out as those temps have potential to be so much lower. Nice puter btw ;)

Looks good.

Which power supply you got? Looks very similar to my thermaltake toughpower 750w  ;)

The Beast is born 8-)

Wait...why did you get the tri SLI mobo if your not going to use the tri SLI? Or was it just for the socket/mobo speed etc? :-?

PS, super jealous.... :P

the power is thermaltake toughpower 850 watts.

Temps are all at idle. Stock cooler is working well. I might swap it out for a Zalman XXXX later on with all the tweeks with clocks.

I will work with the BIOS later on around the weekend. Will call up EVGA and G.Skill for the correct timings and stuff.

I had the tri SLI because i will do more stuff with it later on.

33 - 35 idle is normal for stock cooler. I know someone who was complaining of crashes, I renember that he said he removed the heatsink to have a look and then put it back on - without changing thermal compound. I told him to download Core temp.

Needless to say, it was over 80 degrees.

By that time it's probably not worthwhile to add another 8800GTX, as 1000GTX will be faster than 8800GTX SLI...just bragging rights imo.

Should have gone for IP35 board tbh..
