Task manager acting wierd

Postby DONTREADMYUSERNAME » Wed Nov 21, 2007 12:02 pm

Today I was about to start up FSX and opened up task manager to see if i could close any unnecessary processes, so i Ctrl+Alt+Deleted and this happened....

Its really strange and I dont know what to do! The only way I was able to close it was to restart my computer... I can click on the processes but I cant go to the "end task" page.... Any help would be much appreciated!

Alt+F4 closes windows, Browser top bars can be reinstated by Ctrl+F11. Did you right click on it to close it as well?

If you're not tech-savvy then download a handy bit of freeware called EndItAll. This program will show you which processes can be terminated safely and protects the ones that mustn't ;) A great way to learn about your machines processes (as it also tells you what they are).

You've been hijacked by spyware crap. That isn't good, you probably just installed it yourself without reading the setup options carefully with some new software you installed :P

Lot's of junk processes running in your task manager too.

really? Well thats good... Its just that I have been given many wierd errors involving svchost.... But do you see any ones that jump out at you screaming "spyware" or "virus"?

by the way, I'm running Avast! (anti-spyware/virus) tonight, gonna see if it comes up with anything.
