Double Monitors Question and Comments

Postby a1 » Sat Oct 27, 2007 4:28 pm

I have set up my 2 monitors on my 8800. I have set AA to 2x on nHancer but when i have a popup window like the FS chat box or FSNavigator most half of the screen turns dark. I fixed this past problem by adjusting the AA but now it persists. How do I fix it? Also both monitors now experience a dark line running down it like an old film. Not so dark that you can't see what is behind it but dark enough so that it bothers me. What is it and how o I fix. In FS the default GPS, Radio stack, and other default winds can't seem to drag onto the second monitor. How do I get them to easily drag on?

Screen Res.: 1st monitor is 800x600 2nd monitor is at 1024x768 or so. How do I change the resolutions independently without changing the other monitor.

Does 2 monitors effect performance in any high demanding programs?
How do I turn reset to show one monitor at times and double at other times?
Are there anything I should be aware of?

Thanks

Think about it, the pc is having to display it twice as much. So I would bet on it affecting it.

The second monitor isn't displaying anything except for my wall paper.

In that case if you want as much performance as possible. Dont even use the second monitor while playing a game. Even though one is  only displaying a background, its still using resources ;)

Right click the item you want to move and click UNDOCK. You can then move it to the other monitor

How do I change the resolutions independently without changing the other monitor.

Right click the screen in deskttop. When the menu comes up click Display Settings then click on the screen you want to change. This will allow you to change each monitor to whatever resolution you want.

Running 2 monitors in FSX will not hurt your FPS.

When I right click default windows the undock selection is not avalible for me to click. I see it is there but it just doesn't allow me to click it. Why is that?

You have to be in Windowed Mode (Alt + Enter) first. Click on one of your panel icons and open up what you want to move (radio, GPS, etc). You should see the undock selection.

Hoping I do not upset A1's searches, I just moved the VGA cable from my secong old monitor to the old Del laptop just to see if it works too.

Screen properies>settngs show both screens with No.2 the laptop, BUT:-

1.  the laptop, after restaring, has nothing on its windows blue screen, its own mouse arrow works.

2. the PC's mouse disappears horizontally, fsNav is send L out of the screen, but nothing appears on No2 laptop's screen.

Is it because laptops cannot work as dual?                    luke
