eVGA nForce 680i USB External Drive Support

Postby Ashton Lawson » Tue May 29, 2007 10:15 pm

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, do any of the nForce 680i series of motherboards support USB External DVD Drives?

I was just wondering because I have one, and I don't want to have to buy another just for this new computer.

The computer I'm building hasn't even started, but I'm just getting rough estimates of its price.

Thanks,

Str!ker

All motherboards accept extirnal DVD drives. If you are refering to will it install a install of an OS off an extirnal, yes, but I don't recomend it. Just get an internal. The Samgsung 18x DVD+/-RW burner that I am constantly using only runs $32 and works beautifully.

Use the extirnal as a spare, but not as your main.

Or you could just rip the external one out of the casing and make it an internal. Its only a normal IDE drive.

i think this is gonna be a two man thread ;D.

Anyway, i wont start another thread, so ill just ask it here.

I've found out that I won't be able to get the PCP&C Turbo-Cool 1KW-SR PSU in Thailand.

So, I'm exploring my other options.
