RAM problems

Postby flymo » Fri Mar 30, 2007 3:30 pm

2 questions

1. ok, i have 2GB ram, 1gb corsair XMS PC3200 and 1Gb crucial Balistix, the corsais is at 225 mhz (overclocked) but when i add the balistix the RAM speed goes down to 150Mhz.
where does the advantage lie, with 2gb of ram at 150 or with 1gb at 225?

also, im not sure if anyone will have the answer to this question here..

2. since i removed the other gig of ram (removed balistix) when ever i go to load a Steam game it freezes either on one of the loading phases (retrieving server info or sending client info) or it gets into game, and as im about to spawn it freezes!
ive deleted my clientregistry.blob and ive even reinstaleld steam!
yet it still freezes
any ideas?

cheers
john

Yup one thought, DON'T mix different types and speeds of RAM!
