actual size of monitors?

Can anybody with similar 19" monitor advise of how wide actually is the viewing area L to R.

My packed up old Fujitsu says on it 17", but the glass measures 12" L to R & 15" diagonally.

Is this sort good for fs9?

It is now supposed to be the viewable area measured diagonally.
My 20" LCD is exactly 20" diagonally.
However my 17"

The actual size of a monitor? Thats easy top corner to botom corner (Diagonally) LCDs are always right on (usually .1 of an inch bigger than they state) CRTs are usually lesser....

Gunny

EDIT: My 19 inch wide is roughly 19.5 inches diagnonal, though it IS a widescreen  ;D

Say chaps in this new craze, all those frightful mugs sporting on your thumbnails will frighten us all out of the fotum. You even beat Congo's pet.

Gunny for God's sake, are you competing with Flintstone? Thanks, & L to R?

Eh what luke? I don't quite get what your saying. Anyways, Yes it does stretch the 2d panels but it makes them readable, with a tweak in FSX widescreen is actually better than the normal.... because you can see the entire panel where as in a normal monitor you need to zoom out.

My 19" widescreen monitor is just over 16" L to R. Hope this answers your question.

My apologies Gunny, was trying to be funny about all of a sudden everybody show their fotos, & thanks for the reasuarance on the streching part.

I think could get all the panel on my old monitors, but if I manage to get the flat one will be nice.

Thanks  Hagar, 19 but get only 16, another of the usual fobs.

Have to spend a couple of thou on a 30" I guess to get 19".

OK james, by the time I afford it will drop a bit more.
