Finally replaced my PSU

Postby Viper22 » Fri Jan 26, 2007 6:27 pm

Well, my Hiper Type R finally and officially died on my a week ago after only 3 months or so, and it really did not work well at all with my system.  The shipping costs for the RMA (to California...ugh) would just be a waste, so I ordered a Silverstone Zeus 750W PSU, and found the worksmanship to be amazing, and it is very high quality and works well.  The cables are labeled too so that was a bit of a plus, and now my computer finally runs stably.  I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to build a system.  Just remember, dont overlook your PSU, it is one of the most important pieces of technology in a computer. ;)

I find it very intresting that your Type R didn't work in that rig, its not too demanding. Personally I would have replaced it with an Earnmax Galaxy 850 insted, but thats just me.

I know it was weird, but the Silverstone will keep my runing for a little while longer, and I can probably do a few upgrades with it before I eventually I have to move up to 1KW ones someday.  and I was looking at the Enermax, but this PSU was on sale and I needed one, and the Galaxy was a little overbudget and overkill for me.

I have 3 of the Silverstone 650s and have been very happy with them. I am sure if I upgrade in the near future it will be with a bigger Silverstone.

(I did have a rev 1 fail but the store where i bought it replaced it with a rev 2 and have had no more problems)
