Drivers not showing up in addremove control panel

Postby hsvfan » Fri Jan 12, 2007 3:42 pm

Hi all

I have had some performance problems with studders in flight sim 2004 and medal of honour. I have tried to uninstall the 93.71 drivers but they are not showing up in the addremove control panel.
The video card ASUS 7600gs pci-e 512 card is showing up in the advanced display properties.

I can't even install drivers, I get this message

[glow=yellow,2,300]The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit[/glow]

Would be grateful of any help

Cheers

You downloaded THOSE drivers? If not, I can't help you, then I wouldn't know...

...I had the same problems with my 7900GTX, just because I downloaded the 7 Series GO drivers... ::)

Go get the free edition of DriverCleaner. Install and run selecting everything nVidia and clean.

Have the correct drivers ready. After running DriverCleaner, reboot. Now here comes the tricky part that I and many others have experienced. Driver installation use to be a snap but it seems now you get different types of errors or problems encountered installing new drivers.

I had to keep at it and my new drivers finally installed. Some recommend installing drivers first, then hardware. Others recommend doing it the other way around. Since you are not installing hardware and just a simple upgrade in drivers, you would think it would be easy.

Booting into safe mode will sometimes help to install these new drivers.

Might give Omega Drivers a try, the Omega driver installer has always worked flawlessly in removing old drivers and installing the new ones.

Good luck.

I never like giving advice, mainly because I know I'm no expert
