Hi guys...
Thanks for the feedback...
I'm startin' to get confused with all this talk of ratios... My video card is an Sapphire Radion X1600 pro 512mb (AGP) so I'm fairly confident it's able to correct to the required ratio... that said & done, won't the drivers that accompany the hardware sort out ratio issues...???

Its not a problem. The video adapter will allow full control of the display. The only reason I mentioned it is because of the expense, some buy a large LCD for more than just computer/games use. If you happen to purchase a widescreen and expect to use it for a standard cable or other TV hookup (not through the computer) just make sure it supports a 1:1 ratio. Some do, some dont. If you do not intend to use the unit for anything other than computer use.. no worries, it will work fine.

Good choice:

excellent response time, good contrast ratio, excellent brightness.

For comparison:

Dell is also famous for banding and blur at high speed although some of their units are not bad.

I think the samsung in that size is the best choice as well.

Yaaaaaaayyy... Phew... :P  I was nearly gonna give up at one point. Every monitor I looked at had tiny variations for & against each one I had compared and it became very difficult to choose... Its was nearly enough to drive me bonkers. It was well within my budget too...
