Well if it seems it is "getting used to it" after awhile chances are it is just the fact the scenery is still cached.

How is it after you restart the sim? Does it take awhile before it smooths out again? if so has nothing to do with your card but memory ;)

So why do people believe computers will just fry?

I never understood this either, you may lock up a computer due to lack of RAM or a CPU that can't keep up,  but a game or sim won't simply "fry" anything.
If your "frying" stuff with a game then you have some other serious problem that needs looking into.

omg im running FSX my hardware is going to fry, if its gonna fry its more than likely due to more things than just FSX :P

i dnt see why useing an ATi xt1950x which is an amazing card would cause problems in FSX just because u had a bad time with it doesnt mean everyone else will... for example im haveing probs with my 7900GTO but others are fine with it, i now know after buying that its a troublesom chipset but hey. what ya gonna do. experience with hardware is all about your own rig and does not apply to everyone. unless it genuinly is a crap piece of hardware/software

also the 8800GTX is not the end all and be all of GPU's, yes its the most powerful on the market but... not everyone has the capacity to run it. the things are huge and will probs not fit in most peoples cases and most people probably do not have a PSU up to the job. before you start recomending hardware you need to know all the specs if its an upgrade!

sorry but u deserve a
LOL

its not crap it does brilliantly for a year old card, but put against a 8800GTX its gonna look bad isnt it you fool
personaly i would rather have that than my 7900GTO

and also, it has 1 less FPS than both the 8800GT's and its a DX9 card and has 1 differant setting. hmm such a crap card isnt it!

No offence but its time for you to shut up until you understand the differnces in core archatextures.

There are some major differences between the R580 and G80 cores of ATi and nVidia. Yes the first most noted one being DX10 and Pixel shader model 4 going to the G80. However when we read deeper into the differenes in the cores we find that due to the new Pixel shader model the way that the G80 renders AA and AF is far superior to that of the R580. Read up on this http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2870&p=1 to fully understand the sheer magnitude of the card.

Now I am not going to debate that there are some serious issues to be resolved with the X1950 however in real world testing we have found that the 8800GTX in SLi is actually slower than 7900GTX in SLi, and usually all they offer are more eye candy. Which yes smoother lines on the wings are nice, currently the 8800GTX has no benchmark to win itself over a X1950XTX, infact in most FPS contests the X1950XTX wins.

Cheers
