Those are costumer opinions, not comprehensive reviews. There are so many terrible ones too, at least half are one liners, have no regard for grammar, or spelling, and don't quantify their results. They just say "this board is awesome" or "this board sucks", yet they all say they have high tech understanding.

However, no matter what board you pick there is a few people that have a problem with it. What to look for is how many people experience that exact problem. Is it a freak accident, or a fault with the board?

Back to the Striker. According to Asus it is a BIOS problem. This pretty much sums up the situation:

"My time with the ASUS Striker Extreme was exceptionally pleasant. The bundle is excellent, the features are nice, the layout is nearly perfect, and the board is stable as any i975x chipset based board. That

I'm not the biggest fan of Abit.

I like Abit. I think they got the best Northbridge/Southbridge cooling system. Heatpipes get rid of the heat through the I/O panel. While Asus provides some weird northbridge cooler that just looks terrible, hardly cools anything, and just isn't practical. The boards usually overclock very well, and aren't overpriced like Asus and DFI. They use only Japanese capacitors, and their forums are great. They did come out with a few lemon boards like the KN9 SLI, and there are some bizzare layouts on some of the boards. I think they are one of the better manufacturers though.
