Another graphics card maybe

Postby Gunny04 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 11:48 am

I want a new GPU (Dont ask me why) I like the 7300LE but the 4 pipes bite! I may get either a 7300GT or a 7600GT..... Your thoughts? I am finding decent deals on ebay hence why I may con my parents into giving me 30 bucks for another card and just sell this one overclocked, your thoughts? I can go with 8 pipes or 12.... better than my 4!

Cheers, Gunny (I Know I need a PSU too)

A PSU will go a hell of a longer way then a new GPU. Yes a GPU plays games faster, but a PSU makes the system more stable.

As for the new card, don't even think of getting anything in the 7300 series. 7600GT at the very least. 7800's are starting to come down in price.

Wait, what do you mean dont get into the 7300 Series (Looks in comp case) Looks like I already did that one! I think it would work for what I need, and a 7600 would be nice, if you do the math I am wasting money  ;D 50 bucks for the 7300, and maybe 30 for either a 7300GT or a 7600GT off of ebay..... 7800s and such are a tad expensive, the reason I am getting cheapo cards is the work for the time being (Hey I know I am brainless) but I am thinking of a X1300XT or a 7600GT Maybe if I can find a cheap 7800..... as for a PSU, yes it would help, But I think a graphics card is more important, but How can a GPU function without power? I'm screwed in this aspect! Cheers, Gunny

If you can scrounge up some money, go for a 7600.  Don't worry, I'm in the same boat.  I just bought a whole new computer, then realized that I need a new heatsink and an lcd monitor.

Well, look at it this way. You payed $50 for the 7300LE, if you buy a 7300Gt thats $100. You could have gotten a 7600GT for $150. Take ct's advice, save up and buy big. ;D

Well I cant save, because my parents find the money no matter where I hide it, and spend it on useless things such as gasoline, Vacations, and such.... Cheers, Gunny

If you must I'd get a X1300XT, they are cheap with 12 pipes, and the same core as a X1600 :D
