Well both the G80 and R600 are going to have a PhysX built into the card, so unless Ageia can pull something amazing out of their ass, and convice the population to buy a stand alone card, they are going under.
As for the Quad core CPUs, the benchmarks arn't that impressive. Grab an E6600, and wait for the second gen of Kentsfield. The theory of two cores per die has never been used.

I will be looking at the significantly faster Yorkfield as opposed to the Kentsfield. The L2 cache is shared meaning the processor is more efficient, whereas the Kentsfield (Core 2 Quad) will have seperated cache.

That's good news about the GFX cards.
