Widescreen Montitor

Postby Gunny04 » Fri Sep 22, 2006 10:39 am

Ok... I have a really nice 19 inch LCD Widescreen monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824009092 Now, my question is, Is there ANY way for me to run Games at its resolution (The only one that wont stretch or distort it) 1440X900 In games? I have tried but I just get a lot and I mean a lot, of lag, I bet I'll have to buy a 7800 or something to run a res like this in hardcore games, but I tried in some racing game demos, and I cannot, get it to run any lower..... I have to force my Nvidia to custom resolution as it is.... So I was just wondering, if I cant play games until a fancy card, or if there was some way to make my monitor display half way decent at a lower res.... Cheers, Gunny

I think maybe your games have to support widescreen gaming.  You could always run games at normal resolution, but you would get a bit cut off at each end of the screen :'(

hmmm, With my new 7300 PCI-E Card they seem to run fine at resolutions...... but a 16:9 Setting would probably help (standard is 4:9) well........ I think I fixed the problem, but thanks for replying! Cheers, Gunny
