Advice on Laser Printers

Postby masmith » Thu Aug 03, 2006 6:00 am

I need advice.

I did have a Ink Jet printer, which was ok but slow but to buy the inks were more expense than the printer itself! :o, because Im doing my GCSEs at the moment, and printing dozens of drafts of course work Im thinking of getting a laser printer Could anyone recommend a Mono colour Laser Printer which is smaller (as I have to transport it to my boarding school) and around

Color laser for $100, your joking right? I mean blacn and white mabe, but there is no way in hell you are going to get a color laser for that price. Also most laser printers are rathar large due to the drum size, and the paper tray. The 1320 from HP is smallish so is the Samgsung 2010, but again thsoe are both B&W printers.

Also laser drums will cost about $60 (45ishGBP) however will last you about 8 months of heavy printing insted of the current inks your useing.

Mono colour Laser Printer

Think you may of misunderstood Mono=one,
Mono Colour (black and white) that's what I mean of course I'm not going to be albe to get a colour one for $100.

one that just prints text, all I need it for is work.

Staples only sells the 2010, so I dont know about the 1600. However the toner for the 2010 is going to be about 35GPB and its a good printer.

@Arnimon: The extra RAM isn't enought to really be a selling point. Unless your printing a 50~100 page job (seperate pages, not 100 of the same thing), you don't notice a difference in print speed.

Well it all depends on the situation. I would suggest the 2010 due to the quality of parts in it, and the speed, but the extra RAM isn't too bad ithor.
