Cant find usb drive on pc

All in the title its one from microsoft i have tried everything including manual install and uninstall and it still wont work
Can somebody please help

Sounds like your USB port has gone U/S. Have you tried the device on another port?

All my other things work on their, they are: Webcam Joystick 2 printers and a bluetooth reciever i tried unplugging every usb device and only puting the drive in and it still dont work

In that case it is either a dry joint or a loose connection most likely... does the drive work on other ports?

It works on the mac but not on the main pc everything else works on any usb port and when i plug the drive in or take it out it makes the noise and when i first pluged it it installed it and its also in the device manager but i have no way of putting stuff on it

Update it also works on my mums Xp based laptop
I also check the usb root hubs in device manager and the Bios and they were all enabled

Not knowing what make and model system you have makes diagnostics a bit harder. I've seen this once or twice before. On one occasion, the Universal Hub devices needed to be updated. On another occasion the PCI bridge drivers were at fault.

Try reinstalling the software that came with your mother board from the CD (if you have one). Then, immediately update all software from manufacturers for your mainboard. The PCI host bridge can sometimes (manufacturer dependant) change how the USB devices operate. This can be true of a software driven modem in particular.

Everything seems to work, but the USB bridge seems to be faulty. If all your software is working and updated, I would suspect what others have already stated, (bad hard card, dirty or poor connections, etc).

sorry, i couldnt resist. try reinstalling the drivers for ur device, it should work then
