New RAM

Okay, I know in another post I said I was going to spend $160 on airsoft, however now I'm considering spending it on a 2GB kit of RAM, Cus looking at my system moniter showing 98% RAM used during BF2 and F.E.A.R. just hurts. Also my XMS is starting to fail (wouln't hold 3.96, most I can get it to now is 3.82Ghz stable. Its my fault though, had it undervolted). Anyway heres what I'm looking at.

OCZ Gold Series PC2-4200
OCZ Platnum PC2-6400
OCZ Platnum PC-3200

Basically this is what I need the RAM to do.

1. Allow me to get my 4.01Ghz+ overclock on my processer
2. Run more stable than my current stuff (but again any new RAM will do that).
3. Work with my MoBo. I know I have DDR2 Slots, but I dont think I can use teh PC2-6400 stuff in it. If this is the case, then I will just get regular PC-3200 (or other if needed).

Thanks for the input guys, even an old hand needs some advice every once in awhile. I'm kinda swaying for the PC-3200 and PC2-6400 stuff. According to THG (Toms hardware guide) they both clock very well.

When it comes to 2x1GB memory sticks you know as well as I do higher stable clocks are more difficult to achieve and maintain. My advice would be to either post here: http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=45 or contact an OCZ rep directly in email. Make sure you include a complete system spec and rundown as to what it is you are trying to acheive so they can advise you on what would be best.

OCZ has one of the best support teams and reps available.

Thanks. Well I think I've come to a decision, and I'm going to get the PC-3200 stuff. I good friend of mine has a 1GB kit of it, and they are quite amazing sticks, and those timings arn't half bad ithor.

Well I'll have my RAM in about 4 dayys.

I can't speak for Inhell but with AMD64 low timing is no longer an issue. The issues is will the sticks maintain a high bus speed @ 1T. You made need to loosen the timings quite a bit to hit the high note you are after. The reps @ OCZ can definitely help you with that choice.

Actually according to what the guys at hot hardware have been telling me is that the reason its 2-3-2-5 is so that you can get the higher clocks without haveing to retweak the RAM.

So I'm ordering this right after I hit post. Should be here on Fri, and I will post a better video tutorial on how to overclock then.
