controller

hi, in my situation, i'm not able to use a joystick and have been using a microsoft sidewinder with a mercury sensor inside, so i just tilt the controller to move the aircraft..alas, its starting to die...can someone recomend a good quality replacement?  thanks....
i7-7700k ....msi geforce gtx 1060....msi z270 gaming m5 lga 1151 motherboard....CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) ram.....

Could you please let us know what controller connection-USB or Gameport- you prefer and how much moola you're willing to spend? I personally prefer Logitech and CH controllers myself. I guess Gravis is ok too.

usb's fine......$20-$50 seems reasonable?? don't mind a bit more if its justifiable

Controllers are based on what you like. I use the USB CH yoke and pedals with a USB hub.

The HUB is important. Onboard USB ports should not be used with FS9 because of the resource use. They can cause everything from major to micro stutters and other problems.  

ALWAYS use a powered hub with FS9 USB controllers.

huh why would connecting a device to a motherboard usb port be any different to connecting it to a hub?

You may be able to grab a X45 for $50 or less.
If you have a little more to spend I would recomend CH Products Fighterstick ;)

Go to a place like e-pinions to see what others like/dislike. I only recommended manufacturers because what I prefer in a specific controller, which is the CH F-16, may not be your preference.

thanks for suggestions...tried a few controllers and returned them to the store (which i hate doing) i decided that i love my sidewinder freestyle pro and have found another new one, on e-bay...so i am now content..... :) :) :)

a powered USB hub draws current from the hub PSU instead of the computer PSU all that is delt with by the system is the signal

it can make a big difference

I agree with Nick on this, I had all 5 CH products plus TIR plugged into the USBs on the computer and it was too much.

Now I run all the CH gear on a self powered hub and all issues are solved.
