Graphic Problem

Postby feng » Fri Jun 02, 2006 12:20 pm

After my motherboard crashed on my old PC I was given a second hand Packard bell PC by a work colleague.  The new one seems better than the original, I now have an Athlon 2Ghz processoer, 640MB Ram, the only drawback was it had on-board graphics.  Being skint I managed to buy a second hand Radeon 9250 128MB Graphic card (PCI Version), but have found that I seem to get around 2 frames a week, let alone a second.  It makes the game unplayable.
I have tried disabling the onboard graphics in the BIOS and have installed the Catalyst 6.4 drivers but still no good.
My old machine was a 64MB card (dont remember which) and that used to work fine.  I have read that other people have used a Radeon 9250 for FS so am guessing it is capable of running the game.
Any advice would be appreciated. ???

feng,

Hi and welcome to SimV.

I think that card is not really very well suited to dfs2004.

Thanks for that.  I did uninstall the previous drivers. I am aware that the PCI card isn't  as good as AGP, but my new motherboard has a strange AGP slot that my last card wont fit into.  I dont think it is an AGP 1 slot, it's just that it has a whit clip on one end (kind of like those that hold the RAm chips in, i have never seen one like it before.

It is a microstar MS 6367 board.  If anyone can suggest a reasonably priced AGP card to fit my board I would be grateful

Thanks again
