How to change keys to type the  pound sterling sign in ms word.

Win XP is configured for English UK and also the keyboard, but the pound is nowhere to be found, and pond keye gives "#".

Repair ms word does not correct it.     HELP      nick

If you want to take the long route you can open the charmap utility and copy and paste it from there.  I haven't used Word in ages (wordpad fills all my needs) but I believe it is possible to adjust keyboard shortcuts.
