I have found out the hard way about PC upgrades and underbuying.
The last upgrade I did was a mistake. I bought a AMD 754 socket system ,and although better than the P3 I had it was a wasted investment because I should have bought the AMD 939 socket platform that was available at the the time, but I didn't want to spend the extra dollars.

It (754) didn't deliver the performance outcome in FS9 or CFS3 that I wanted.
Had I spent an extra, say 30%, I would have got a system that would have delivered.

So I would like to take this opportunity to thank your good self and the other great people here like ctjoyce and nick_n and all the people who contribute to this Hardware forum for all the great advice and support they have given me so I could build this beast of a system.

Just by the way I ran the 3dmark 05 over my 754 system before I did the upgrade and it returned a figure of 1580, (ati 9600xt, amd3400, raid 0 raptors etc).
I used all the same settings in 3dmark 05 with the new system and I got 10040 !!!!
I can't wait to get in and staring playing with overclock etc.
