To add to Congos statement about a static picture.
Take your own DVD, something with many effects and fast motion, Star Wars maybe and put the monitor to the test, that is what i did and the guy at the store thought i was nuts when I pulled out a DVD to have him put in, but this is the only true way to see what your getting before buying it ;)

I like LCD monitors better than CRT's for the following reasons:

Use less power
At there native res have a very sharp picture
Use less desk space
Are more reliable (at least for me)
don't get affected by cordless telephones etc
Are easyier to transport to lans
have less of a border for multimonitor
height adjustment
portrait mode :D

For flight simming you will be looking for panels with specs like this:
20" (so much better than 17" seriously and have "normal" aspect ratio)
native res: 1600x1200 (nice and high and a standard resolution supported by most games)
connection: DVI (although VGA dosen't apear to produce lower quality images in therory it should)
response time: 12ms (anything less I personaly don't notice, although lots of manufactures lie about response times!)
contrast: 500:1 (higher numbers are better)
Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (higher is brighter, but very bright monitors may hurt your eyes)

a reflective screen coating looks awsome but itn't suitible if you game with the sun (or moon) shining onto your screen or any bright light sources.
5900xt/2800+/280GB/1GB PC3200/Cyborg Evo Force/ABIT NF7
Gpu clock: 475mhz core, 800mhz mem
CPU at: 12.5x175 = 2187.5
memory: 2.5, 3, 3, 8 Duel channel on
Os: windows xp pro, ubuntu 5.10 breazy badger

Hey Guys,     Always wishing you a nice day.

I got in touch with my friend down in the valley  last night about an  LCD  monitor. He has one.    After a long talk with many questions and his answers,   I've decided to try a LCD.         Not one to put off things once a decision is made.     I went on -line and ordered a  "  Philips,  19" LCD monitor. Dot pitch  0.294 mm,  8ms, 1280x1024 @60Hz to 75Hz,Brightness 250,  . I have all the other specs , but don't understand  some of them.   After much "looking" and comparing I feel I got a very good  buy.

It's on the way, will arrive about this friday .     Will someone let  "Paul" know that I'm almost across that lake ;D ;D

Hey Guys,  The next thing is to  "put it all together" - - -  Fun and Games   ,      exciting time for me ,;D

Sure do appreciate you guys helping me so much .
