Parts on the way

Postby caveman16 » Wed Apr 26, 2006 12:22 pm

Hey Guys and Ladies,    Here's wishing you all a nice day.

Four days ago I ordered all of my New PC parts except  for the power supply.    That item was out of stock  and at this writing  - - -STILL IS.       Patience,    I keep telling myself .        THE    7900GT  ,   WAS always  out  of stock  and   I got that also.  Ordered it at midnight Sunday . [ Happy I am ].

I can get the power supply in black but decided to wait until BLUE is available  - - -   I think I'm getting  FICKLE  ;D

Blimey... :o...!

I think everyone at Sim V should now retire to a darkened room until this terrifying exercise is finally over.....
.....or...
....caveman has finally seen the light, and purchased a nice ready-made PC from his local supplier of nice ready-made PC's..... ...and all our problems and frustrations will finally be at an end....;)... ;D...!

Phew... ;)...!

LOL... ;D...!

.......supplier of nice ready-made PC's.....

:o  Oh, I hadn't even considered that possibility actually......  ;D

If there was such a thing Fozzer, the excercise would not be required.

What would be the fun in that anyway?   8)

It's just quite possible that Caveman and others may never have another PC repair bill again from doing such a project, not to mention the confidence and freedom of fear you get when you put it all together yourself.

Now visions of caveman offering sacrifices when things get a little confusing enter my mind; virgins, children, pigs and goats beware !

Very nice NickN.

Does that MSI board have a BIOS with good tweak options?

That's the fastest and most stable board on the market right now in SLI....

Second is the DFI LP and third, Asus

To answer your question, yes, it has a very comprehensive BIOS... so much so a lot of folks are having trouble understanding all of it.

That suits me just fine... the more access it gives me, the more I like it.

That board also has a more efficent and much better laid out thermal heat pipe system than others.

The 2x1G memory sticks are rock bottom guaranteed to do at minimum 250Mhz @ 1T and that

Nice upgrades Nick! I'm looking into a 2GB kit of PC4000 or above, and those OCZ sticks look nice.

Cheers

What I like about OCZ is they will provide all the default module BIOS settings (all those memory settings that usually remain set to AUTO in the BIOS because the specs are unknown) and also provide tips for tweaking all the BIOS settings for best clocks...

You see Caveman? You order something great and it's outdated before it can even be delivered  ;D

Awesome sounding rig NickN, would you give us a report when you get it all going please?
