Sapphire Driver problem.

Postby ctjoyce » Sun Jul 17, 2005 9:31 pm

Okey boys and girls its NEW DRIVER DAY!!!! YAY catalist 5.4 drivers are here, but wate theres a problem. When I install them, and go through the system reboot windows starts, then dosnt do anything. I'm just faced with my wallpaper. No icons, no start bar, nothing. So I hit the restart button on my keyboard which shuts down windows and it restarts. However wate again because when windows restarts I get faced with the 640X??? screen setting, but my card claims that its in 1024X768. Can anyone tell me if theres something I'm suppost to do beside just click the installer? Look I know its noobish, but I've never had to deal with updating drivers before, so any help would be grately appriciated.

You need to uninstall the old drivers first from add/remove software. Then reboot, cancel found new hardware message, install new drivers. If you are using the download with the Catalyst Control Center, make sure you have .NET 1.1 from Microsoft installed before updating drivers.

Once the drivers are in, you need to go to display properties to reset your resolution, refresh rate, etc.
