Hello all.   1st post.    And, posting for a friend of mine.   His rig: Intel pentium 2.4; 512ram; windows xp; radeon 9200.    He is on service pack 1.    

His game freezes on the opening window of FS9.   Goes no further.    He has uninstalled and reinstalled twice.   Same thing happens.     The game was running fine, this is an all of the sudden thing.   (He also has 2 additional people in his household that can "sign in" on this computer with their own desktop settings....the other 2 can access FS9 from their desktop sign in, not sure if that is important to know.)

Must be a conflict somewhere, or missing or corrupt drivers.      Any suggestions or recommendations on what is wrong, or what to do to correct?

Though this is not related to the problem, it is a good idea to install SP2 as it comes with a lot of fixes.

What versian of directx do you have and do you have the latest patch for fs9 from MS?

Version SP1.     Has Direct X9.0c (just installed), didn't fix the problem.      I don't think he has the patch of FS9, but not sure.

Okay, I will suggest he uninstall and reinstall after uploading SP2.
