Thanks for the link. I checked out the laptops but the Alienware ones are much more expensive:

HP Pavilion I'm interested in was about $2090.80 (this is converted from how much it cost here when I checked)

The Alienware equivalent (hardware) was $2,583.00.

Fairly big difference.

It really depends on what you want to do with it...

If you're just using it for word processing and general things like that, a Dell or Toshiba would work just fine.

But for me, I'd have to say Apple all the way.  Of course, I'll still always us PCs, but for what I'm doing when I'm not simming, an Apple caters to me better - I'm doing music and dabbling a bit in film.

So you could break it down like this: General stuff/games - Dell, Toshiba et al, music/film (or any other intensive tasks) Apple's iBook or PowerBooks.

Problem is I can't really go for an apple. I don't think I'll be using apple compatible software and I do want to word process and play games (like MSFS). I have got x-plane and, at the moment, I'm leaning more towards MSFS. Depends on what the new x-plane is like though I guess.
Thanks for the help.
