Saitek X-45

Postby Travis » Sun Oct 17, 2004 12:35 am

Went out and bought me one today, and boy-howdy!  That is one mother of a system!  So many functions I don't know what to do with half of them.

Got a couple of questions.  One, does anyone have a setup for their controllers that works out well?  I haven't created my own good one yet, but I'm trying.

Secondly, I have been trying to map the throttle-side, thumb rotator to the mixture axis.  But the axis doesn't seem to register.  It's there in the test section from the control panel.  But FS just doesn't register it.  Any clue? ???

Ooooh boy, have you started something now?!?!?!  Lemme tell ya...I wouldn't trade my 45 for anything...well, anything I've come across yet.  I absolutely LOVE this stick!

Here's how I've got mine set:

trigger:  brakes
A/B:  left/right brakes
"Fire" :  Spoilers (That cover helps you from deploying them accidentally)
Fire C:  Engine killer

On the throttle side:

Fire D:  Gear Cycle
little orange thing down:  flaps down incrementally
little orange thing up:  flaps up incramentally
Rotary Switch 1:  elevator trim (I think)

That's all I can think of at the moment...I'm sure I've got more things set up...but you're right, I've got lots of room for more assignments!

AWESOME stick.
Great edit, Bob.

Well, with the M1, M2 and M3 settings, you can triple the amount of commands you can input from the system.  I counted it a little bit ago, and the total came out to over 100!

Oh yes, I'm well aware.  lol

Do you happen to know if there's a way to set say M1 to fixed wing and M2 to helos?  When I use the stick on helos I reverse the throttle axis for easier control...just a fantasy of mine to make it a little easier going between the two.  lol
Great edit, Bob.
