Power Supply for Videocard...

Postby GreG » Wed Sep 08, 2004 8:30 am

Hi guys,

Please could someone help me out with telling me what power supply I'd need for my new PC, with the P4  3GHz, and Geforce FX5700  256MB.  Cause the case that I'm looking into only has a 250W power supply, is that enough?

Thanks,
Greg

Found this power supply requirement calculator. Just tell it what you have and it will tell you what you need.

Some of them go up to 700w now. When you think about it, the average microwave uses not much more than that. That begs the question, can a computer be used to heat your coffee? ??? ;)

GreG,

I have an AMD xp 3000+
512mb pc 2700
ATi radeon 9200
Chaintec AV512 Soundcard
160gb hard drive
Floppy drive
a DVD-RW
a CD-Rom
56k Modem
1 92mm case fan, a cpu fan

I run all that on a Hipro 250w PSU just because the pc is still under warranty otherwise I'd get e much better PSU, a 350w one or higher.
Best Regards,
Selby
