Combining X-45 throttle and CH Fighterstick

Hi all,

I had hoped that I would be able to combine the throttle unit from my x-45 (which I like a great deal) with my newly acquired CH Products Fighterstick (as I really don't like the x-45 stick) and Rudder pedals. The x-45 stick part of the set up sits beneath my desk in disgrace... ;-)

Things work fine most of the time - I fly CFS2 mainly and it recognises multiple controllers very well. What does happen, though, is that sometimes I find I suddenly lose aileron or elevator control in my stick as if for some reason the input is not getting through to the game properly.

I have tried to rectify this behaviour by messing with System HID settings for each controller as was suggested to me elsewhere but to no avail. Just when I think everything is working fine, the problem occurs again.

I use a fairly old IBM ThinkPad on Windows 98 SE with all controllers connecting via a powered USB port which in turn is connected to
